Thirty minutes · Free · Mountain Time

No deck. No proposal. A conversation about what you are trying to change.

If the diagnostics are wrong for your situation, you will hear that in this call rather than three weeks into a scoping exercise.

What happens

Three questions, thirty minutes

  1. What are you actually trying to change? Not the initiative name — the behaviour or decision that has to be different six months from now.
  2. What has already been tried?Usually the most informative part of the call. A pilot that stalled tells you more than a plan that hasn't started.
  3. Is this a leadership problem or a structural one? They need different work, and the honest answer is often the second. You'll get my read, and it is free either way.
Pick a time

Before the call

Nothing to prepare, but two things help

  • The last change that didn't takeWhatever stalled, was quietly reversed, or ended as a successful pilot nobody scaled. That story usually contains the whole diagnosis.
  • Who actually has to carry itNot the sponsor — the directors and managers who have to translate the decision into different work. That layer is where the answer lives.
